Founded in 2018, the Sierra Quartet have performed at Festival Rolland in Burgundy France, the Trinity Alps Chamber Music Festival, and in many Groupmuse concerts, and events throughout the Bay Area. Members of the quartet have performed at Tanglewood Music Center, Music at Menlo, S.F. Contemporary Music Players, Festival Napa Valley, Old First Concerts, and Bear Valley Music Festival. Members are in the S.F. Ballet Orchestra and the S.F. Symphony, and teach at the Crowden School of Music & the S.F. Conservatory of Music Prep Department.
Performing a program featuring Quartet No. 22 K.589 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Lady Isabelle Was that Kind of Woman by U.S. composer Alexandra T. Bryant, and String Quartet by Antonín Dvořák .

Because of church regulations, masks will be required indoors. Seating will be arranged for social distancing. The concert will be 60-70 minutes of music with no intermission. Concession will be offered before the concert, but no food or drink will be allowed in the concert hall of the church.

Formed in 2011, The Town Quartet performs weekly at the Musical Offering Café-Bistro in Berkeley and is the quartet-in-residence at CSU in Chico. Their programs feature works by living local composers. They have performed at S.F. Friends of Chamber Music at The Legion of Honor, the Opus Series in Mendocino, and as Distinguished Artists Classical Music Concert & Lecture Series in Santa Cruz.
Members of the quartet have performed in major music festivals, including Aspen, Tanglewood, Bear Valley, Schleswig-Holstein and Santa Fe Chamber Music, and are members of the Berkeley Symphony, Symphony Silicon Valley, Oakland Symphony, Opera Parallele, Musical Art Quintet, and The Climate Music Project. Additionally, members have performed with Andrea Bocelli, Nick Cave, Jethro Tull, Gloria Estefan and Joe Lovano.
Alisa Rose blurs the lines between violinist, fiddler, composer, and improviser with roots in both European classical and American folk music. She co-founded Scroggins & Rose, and the fiery duo Rosso Rose with pianist Amy Zanrosso. Performing at Carnegie Hall, Coachella, and on many international tours, she has appeared on the Tonight Show, PBS, and NPR, collaborated with indie artist Feist, and received a Grammy nomination in 2009 for her work on the album Quartet San Francisco Plays Brubeck.
The program includes Embracing Roots by Bay Area composer Alisa Rose, Inverno Porteno and Four For Tango by Astor Piazzolla, Quartet #3; Sostenuto - Like a Folk Tune by Erich Korngold, and La Follia by Corelli.

Join us for an evening of wine, hors d'oeuvres and live music.
The program features an all Schubert concert with Baritone Sergey Khalikulov, cellist Vicky Ehrlich and duo pianists
Joan Nagano and Ava Soifer. The concert features selected lieder from "Winterreise" song cycle,
the Cello Sonata "Arpeggione" and the piano four hands "Fantasy."

The gifted musicians from the Ruth Asawa SOTA string quartet will provide pre-concert music.

We are so excited to welcome back to our series the astounding vocal Octet “Gaude.” Under the direction of Jace Wittig, (former interim Director of Chanticleer), Gaude, an a cappella chamber ensemble, presents masterpieces from the Renaissance and beyond, and specializing in innovative and compelling programming. Gaude has performed at Old First Concerts, Music on the Hill, the Candlelight Concerts at St. Mary the Virgin (San Francisco), Holy Innocents Episcopal Church Concert Series (San Francisco), and was the premier professional chorus at the 2017 CASMEC Conference in San Jose.
Program: Music of Josquin, Victoria, and Gibbons, the rich Romantic harmonies of Bruckner and Brahms, and the modern voices of Benjamin Britten, Roxanna Panufnik, and Nico Muhly. Exploring impulses we have all shared over the past three years: loss and hopelessness, asking for help, drawing inspiration from music, and a joyful rebirth.

“The Bow & the Brush” a string trio performance of works by Brahms, Nathaniel Stucky, Johann Georg Albrechsberger, and original compositions by Dan Flanagan.

The program includes works by Brahms, Nathaniel Stucky, Johann Georg Albrechtsberger. Also on the program are original compositions by Dan Flanagan, inspired by paintings which will be projected during the concert. The Trio Solano performed for Music on the Hill as a livestream during the pandemic in October 2020. The Trio performs traditional and new string trio repertoire throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. They received a grant from InterMusic SF in 2021, a Silver Medal from Global Music Awards in 2022.
Mr. Flanagan just returned from a European tour in France, England, and Italy, as well as performing concerts in the U.S. in New York City, Chicago, Austin, and Los Angeles. “Dan Flanagan is a true Renaissance man. During the height of the pandemic in 2020…he was busy commissioning sixteen short works for solo violin inspired by the paintings in his own art collection…” New York Concert Review Inc.
