2025-2026 Concerts 

Sunday October 26, 2025 at 7:30 PM: Berkelium String Quartet

This new string quartet will perform a concert titled “The Bow and the Brush,” a mixed-media performance with music with curated paintings projected behind the performers. Formed in 2024, Berkelium members perform with San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, New Century Chamber Orchestra, and the Oakland Symphony. Berkelium members have performed in solo and chamber ensembles across the US and Europe, premiering hundreds of new works. 

Performers are Dan Flanagan, violin, Karen Shinozaki Sor, violin, Jacob Hansen-Joseph, viola, and Michael Graham, cello.

Performing music by Haydn, Paganini, & Beethoven.

Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 7:30 PM:  "Ava & Friends"

Join us for a musical journey to Eastern Europe in a lively concert of works by Dmitri Kabalevsky, Antonín Dvořák, and Bohuslav Martinů.  With a nod to their cultural roots, these innovative composers combined elements of their folk tradition with a classical overlay. 

The individual musicians in "Ava & Friends" have appeared as soloists, in chamber ensembles at Music On the Hill, and throughout the Bay Area, including Old First Concerts, Noontime Concerts, Throckmorton Theater Noon Concerts, Berkeley Chamber Performances, SF Jazz, Yoshi’s, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

Performers are Ava Soifer, piano, Michele Walther, violin, Vicky Ehrlich, cello.

Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 7:30 PM: Avenue Winds

Founded at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Avenue Winds embodies a bold and passionate spirit, taking us on an emotional journey exploring the musical joys of the woodwind quintet. They have performed in recital at numerous venues including the Rossmoor Concert series, University of San Francisco, Berkeley Chamber Performances, Old First Concerts, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Music on the Hill. 

Performers are: Victoria Hauk, flute; Laura Reynolds, oboe; James Pytko,, clarinet; Daniel Wood, French Horn; Jamael Smith, bassoon.

Performing a program of French music including works by Darius Milhaud, Jacques Ibert, Claude Debussy, Eugène Bozza, and Jean Françaix.
